I'm 41 have had acne since I was 12. I have found in recent years that a well balanced diet and lots of water help. I have also switch from using margarine to olive oil/olivio, it has helped immensely. Sometimes a certain food might trigger your acne but is different for everyone, example: broccoli triggers mine so i stay away from it the best i can. Chocolate does not cause a brake out like people will say, but it is not part of a healthy diet. So if you are going to eat junk food do so in MODERATION. As for washing your face, do not over scrub/cleans. Be gentle and use a mild soap/cleanser, try following that with a toner. If your acne is real bad you should see a dermatologist. Last thing I would like to say is, keep your chin up and don't let people treat you like a leper. Acne is hard to deal with especially when your young.

It can be tough, but stay away from as much processed sugar as possible! This includes chocolate, candy, anything that has a lot of sugar, period. This has made a huge difference for me. Also, force yourself to drink more water, and finally, try keeping some acne pads or a face cleanser with you during the day, in a briefcase or backpack. I use Noxema pads, and my face has been clear for a while.

more important than food, is water, drink at least two liters a day. Water flushes your systems, including your skin, of all the impurities that collect on a daily basis. Sticking with low fat foods can help some.
