good answers so far but everyone is looking at the question from the perspective of life as we know it now. I am not taking about extending life till 180, I mean if we were naturally pre-dispositioned to live to 180 what would be different? Maybe we would not mature so early, women might stay ferile for longer so have more children, this may mean that family structures are not as tight as they are now and we might all live more nomadic life styles, maybe there would be a mating season, say May till August and if this was the case maybe we would move around more so cities would not be the same and so in turn the economy would be different? what do you think?

There was an article in the news about this a few months ago because medicine can now make people live longer. The article takes about how family structure would be very different. You may have a sibling that is 50 years older then you! It also said that divorce would become more common because when you are 70 instead of thinking you might as well finish your live with this person, you might want to remarry new since more then 1/2 of your life is left. The article failed to mention what I think is most important, the increase in population which would stain the ecomony, enviorment, etc..

The world would be over-crowded. We'd be paying more social security taxes, I'd own stock in pharmaceutical companies (old people need their drugs). It would be a mess.

Well you would go through a lot more crap than before. Also state pensions wouldn't exist as they would be too draining on the tax system.

if such things as child bearing years of women remained as they are I dare say society would definitely be affeected in such a big way as women, post-child rearing would be a much more powerful force in their families and in their communities..... Imagine what a woman could achieve if she had more than 120 years to achieve it in after rasing her family...!!
