My grandmother (90 and still going!) swears by lemon juice. Squeeze fresh lemon juice on the area & set in the sun to dry. You may have to do this a couple of times, wash the clothing item inbetween. The sun works with the lemon juice to loosen and "bleach" the deoderant stains. Many people think these are sweat stains but they are caused by your deoderant. Lemon juice & sunshine also work to remove mildew stains & odor from whites. Good luck!

* Yellow Armpit Stain Removal *
These stains are likely caused by a combination of deodorant and perspiration. Many deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum salts. When these salts are combined with laundry detergent, especially in cooler water settings, they are not easily dissolved, and they remain on the fabric. To remove the stains, try soaking the T-shirts in warm water with liquid peroxide based cleaner such as Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric. If the stain remains, dampen and sprinkle stain with meat tenderizer. Let stand for about an hour then launder again. To avoid new stains from forming, always wash the shirts in the hottest water safe for the fabric. To prevent these stains, allow your antiperspirant to dry completely before dressing.

You can try peroxide or vinegar, but they're really tough to remove. You might try Adidas Absorbent-Deo, it is supposed to prevent the yellow stains and I haven't had problems with them since I started using it.

I second what Collen said - yellow stains are actually caused by the anti-perspirant elements in deodorant.
