that is a problem. but not completely unfixable their are a few options you can use.
1. copy the ntldr from the hardrive of one computer to the hardrive of the broken one. (using a usb cable to connect the too works great)
2. boot using the windows cd and run the repair option this will load into a DOS like console. i can not remember if ntldr is on the cd to copy but if you can copy ntldr to a flopy or usb stick then you should be albe to load it from there also.
3. If you ARE NOT concerned with loosing data you can reinstall your operating system.
If you decide to use the copy method just copy the file to to root directory ie C:\ then reboot
i have ocasionaly fixed this with running chkntfs and chkdsk but its up to you full details on how to use these commands can be found here --> http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ntcmds.mspx?mfr=true

Juss palce the OS CD and select the boot from CD in BIOS. and start as if the new installation. Installation process will prompt you that it had founded an another OS u want to repair it.
Select yes.
Note: there are 2 repair options
1) Concel repair

Check the source I included below. There are several possible causes for that message. Rather than detailing them all here, just follow the link. Some of the possible problems are simple to fix, others are not fun, to say the least. I hope this helps and I hope you can use one of the simpler fixes.

Rather than waffle on with jargon if you check out this site it will give you a list of possible solutions. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842009/en-us
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812492/en-us - This link is probably better. The reason it happens is for a variety of reasons one of the main one being you have possibly deleted the boot files form the hard drive. You may have to chnage the boot order in your BIOS if you are using a bootable OS CD.

2 possibilities: a million) Your BIOS can't boot USB. verify for BIOS updates. 2) Your USB stick isn't "bootable". try it on yet another gadget to make sure. If it boots on yet another gadget, merchandise a million) above applies.... Win7 via default does no longer come on a USB stick. somebody could have tried to repeat it or create a bootable photograph on it....
