What you're feeling is natural, the problem is it's a youth-based perspective and most of the responses have been from persons similarly positioned. Aging is and can be a bear at times, but it is also the best argument you'll ever recieve against the wasting of time. Maintain yourselves well, and your bodies will respond in kind giving you health and vitality throughout your days. Do the things that are important to you while opportunities exist; tell those you love how special they are to you while you can. Discover and explore your passions so that you leave this world better off than the way you found it. You don't ever need to worry about death; death is fully capable of taking care of itself. And when you need a sense of immortality, raise healthy well-adjusted children...through them you will live forever, just as your parents will through you. Death will visit each of us one day, and in that moment we will transition to an even larger part of a grand design. Even from my vantage point I don't fully know what that is to be, but I know for a certainty this is not a horror story. But we're the authors of the moments in between. Make them count. Carpe Diem, seize the day. Go ahead; dare to dream...dare to love! Love is eternal, and in that way, so are we. As my daughter so aptly phrases it: "...and no regrets".(See, I'm feeling better already). I wish you all much happiness all the days of your lives. Live well.

One fear I have about getting old is the possibility that I'll look back at my life and think I either haven't done enough or that I did everything wrong. Another is that I might develop some scary, painful, debilitating physical or mental condition. Then there's death, which is basically fear of the greatest of unknowns.
Other than that, I plan to enjoy my old age because you get to say whatever you want when you're old and you get to concentrate on your health rather than your looks.

Sometimes I get this queasy feeling in my stomach when I think about getting old because I have been to the nursing homes and don't like what I see and don't want to end up in one. I hope I die before I ever have to be put in one! I'm very serious!
The place always stinks and the people there crap their pants and all kinds of other horrible things!

Getting old is no picnic...hard sometimes to think you have a lot more days behind than you do ahead, but no one is given any guarantees and the best any of us can do is enjoy the moment we have as if it were the last one we will have. Besides, there is always the senior discounts...

I'm never going to grow up and get old I'm turning 31 in just over a month and a half and age is a state of mind. I'm still a kid at heart, besides if I grew up and got old I might have to return my toyz r us membership card and that would...... well......... suck. =)
