My computer got an incredibly bad virus which won't even let me log in ("loading your settings", flashes desktop, "saving your settings") I have all my important files saved on a disk so I figured I could just restart; however, I cannot find the startup disk the computer came with. Can anyone help me?

Safemode won't let me log in; I have absolutly no way to access anything on the computer.
Can you buy a bootup disk at someplace like Best Buy? How much would it cost?

If you don't have access to a Windows Installation CD, and can't find your recovery CD, you may want to contact Dell and find out if you can get a replacement. Would probably be less expensive than having to run to the store to buy a new copy of Windows.

If you have an antvirus on CD Rom (even an older version), you could try booting your computer from CD instead of hard drive. This should run an antivirus scan and possibly find and disable the virus.
Failling that, you could also boot Windows 2000/XP setup from your origional CD and reset the system that way.
If neither of those is an option, your third option is to pull the drive and drop it into another computer. By doing this, you can run a full intensive virus scan on the drive without needing to actually access it - and this should locat eand destroy the virus. Of course, not everyone has a second computer they can use.
your final option, and I don't know how well it would work, is to try a Live Linux distribution - that's Linux that runs direct from CD. It'll give you a GUI to run from, but I'm pretty sure a Win32 virus probably wouldn't show up under Linux. Of course, I'm not famliar with it, so I could well be wrong - can anyone else clarify this?
hope these options help.

Now the system, restarts and loads from the CD. continue the on-screen instructions. AT some point of installation process. It shows list of drives in your system. select each one and press next. The installation process ask for the format. select any one file system and type. and press next.
Repeat for all drives. and exit the installation process. Done, your system's hard disk is formated completly. (No OS also).

you can use a o.s. installation cd, but first you have to make some configurations in BIOS, your computer should first check your cd-driver to start the computer, and then fallow the instructions
