Hi! You can install windows 98 by copying the setup program at one partition and exchange operating system from CD/Floppy/Other Partition By using
sys drivename:
U can copy the operating system code in a floppy to do so.
Now the main thing is U don't have CD-ROM
then their is some steps which are the cheapest one
1. Take out ur harddisk go to another system install win98 min. configuration and stop driver database when windows is searching for.
2. Another approach is Connect ur Computer to Lan with another computer
3. Another one is use floppies to copy that 120 setup files from another machine or use internet and transfer files of win98 setup from another system. Every file are nearly of floppy size (U can use 2.88MB floppies 2)
Then restart and on booting go to the directory where u have a copy of setup and then run the setup program their. Now provide the product key on license and setup will proceed!

Yes it is possible, but it will be nightmere?!

If you have network card try moving install files via network.

Use 98 boot to format your HDD
Bring up Network
Copy files
Run setup

If you do this by floppies you need to transfer all install files and run last step

If you can get an MSDOS startup disk (and you can freely download them on the web - it's not piracy to do so), and you have the files for setup on your hard drive, yes. Windows 98 will install from a hard drive. Boot your system to DOS and install from the drive.

if you can burn the cd onto a flash drive you may be able to do it that way. you should have dos on the hdd first to boot it and access the flash though.
hmmm heck dont even know if thats possible. does dos have drivers for flash drives?

best way is to go buy an external cd drive or borrow one.
