My daughter is turning 6 in August and we're having a small party for her at our house. It's going to take place outside and the kids are going to play in the water. What other inexpensive things can they do for fun and what should I have for food?

Ihave a 6 and 8 year pair of daughters and the simplest things amuse and amaze them. They think (at least for now) that I am the most fun / coolest Dad around!

For less than $10 total you can go to Wal-mart and buy a set of kid paints (around $3-4) a set of brushes (about $2) and 6 mixed dog and cat figures ( $3) from the craft department. As a bonus for about $0.49 to $0.89 each you can pick up various window figures that they can paint and hang in their windows. My girls picked the Pegasus as their window figure. The paints are water soluble and clean up in a jiffy.

You could go to the dollar store and pick up some squirt guns for a buck each.

Get some rope and do 3 legged races.

Get some old sacks and do sack races.

Tell them some stories and act the stories out with them.

Get a few cans of play dough and see who can make the nicest animal out of their portion of play dough.

Build a Volcano - get a 12 ounce soda bottle, cut the top off and make a paper machete mountain around it. Spray paint the volcano. Put baking soda into the cut down bottle and add vinegar. Alternate plan - http://chemistry.about.com/cs/howtos/ht/buildavolcano.htm

I hope these ideas help. Best wishes!

Hello, my daughter is 6 quickly and is having a monkey themed celebration as she likes monkeys. While you have not so much time left why do not you're taking her and a couple of near peers to the nearby park (climate allowing) and purchase all three a hoola hoop each and every? Then off to Mc Donalds for three glad foods at £two.00 each and every. The dearest hoola hoop I've noticeable in Toys R Us is £five.00. This might best set you again £21 in whole. If the wheather is not upto so much then hire a DVD from Blockbuster and order a Domino's Pizza. Hope you get looked after and your daughter has a Happy sixth Birthday.

Go online to a site like www.birthdayinabox.com and they always have checklists and plenty of ideas for parties. I went onto all kinds of websites for my son's first and had such a great party. If you have a theme, you can do food that matches. What about a slumber party with pizza, popcorn, and homemade sweets.
