Question

when i was 16yo, i went abroad for the first time.
even though i was a high school student, some people mistook me for a primary school student.

and this march, i went to england.
my bf told me that his brother couldnt believe that i am 23yo.
and my bf said i look like a 12yo girl.

anyway, it was funny when my mum was mistaken for 16yo.
but she was 40yo that time.
how funny it is.

i know japanese people look quite young than real age.
but i was angry when my bf said i am like 12yo.

I can definitely understand how this is distressing for you. Yet, if you are happy with who you are then you won't have to worry what other people think. I know a girl who is in a similar situation. She seems to laugh about it and not let it bother her. I wonder if there is a way you may take a more light-hearted view of yourself. After all, looking young is not so bad :) Think of your mother... When you are 40 maybe you will look like 19 too! It can be difficult when you are younger though b/c you want to be respected as an adult... but even so, the best thing you can do for yourself is accept yourself for who you are. Love yourself for being you. Also, have you talked with you mother about these feelings? Maybe you can talk about your current feelings with her...I bet she would like that and so would you.

If you're very young looking, you shall be very beautiful and look like you are 30 when you are 70. You shall age very gracefully, and as you grow older, you will recognize the wonderful gift that you have been given, so be thankful that you DO look young.
You are SO fortunate. Never mind what ANYONE says about it. Count your blessings.
It sounds like your bf has not yet recognized the gem you are. He'll grow up sooner or later, hopefully.

I had the same problem. I was asked for my ID every time I ordered a drink until I was almost 30. Looking younger than you are is a real pain now. But you'll appreciate it in another 20 years!

I can relate. I still get asked & carded all the time.
It good to be able to pull it off, but you do come across people who treat you like a child in some ways because of your appearence. I can understand how you feel about being seen as a 12 yr old.

My Mum's in her late 60's but looks 50.
My Big bro is 46 but looks about 25.
I'm 43, but sometimes get asked my age 2 buy Cigarettes!
I laugh!

i'm almost 24 and im eruopean and most ppl say i look like 16 .... but i don't really bother you know .... hope i stay like this till i grow old so when im 50 i look like 40 (wink)

I would definetly take it as a compliment. People pay big bucks on plastic surgery, cosmetics and creams to make themselves look younger. So consider yourself lucky.

Do you know how much money ppl pay to look younger. You are blesses trust me as you get older it will feel good to know that ppl think that you look younger. And I know that maybe you get mad that your bf told that you look so young but don't let it get to you.

Yeah. It's ok don't worry about it.
I like japanese people. I'm sure in Japan people would know how old you were. Just ignore people...they can be so rude sometimes...
