No. Villa still have enough in them to garner the needful home wins, that will secure top flight status.
Despite all the rants about 'Deadly Doug", you must realise that it is still his money that kept them floating for many a year.
Some of his previous managers were also to blame for signing players based only on reputation. John Gregory, Joseph Venglos, Ron Atkinson are among those.
But Doug is too rooted in 'old school chairmanship' to be really helpful to Villa's cause. If they get the American to buy them over, and set up around 20mil, in the transfer kitty, then Villa might seriously start challenging for minor honours.

Couldn't give a toss mate, as long as Paul Le Guen wins the title back for the Gers off of the tattie munchers, I'll be happy. And Roxy "the Premiership would be dull without them".Don't make me laugh, if you replaced a couple of you duller teams - Villa, Midelsborough, or a couple of the newly promoted teams - with 2 of the top 10 club teams in the world (check the facts if you don't believe me), ie, Rangers and Celtic you would have definetely, not just possibly, the best League in the world to be proud of. It will never happen though because of your teams like Villa who rather than thinking about an improvement of the overall League, are so selfish that they are only thinking of themselves and would never give up their place in the league to the Old Firm teams. and the reason for this I have already gave - they don't want to improve the quality of the league, because it means that they wouldn't be playing in it the very next season - (it's all about self preservation for all of the Premiership teams, the top 5 apart. It stinks of hypocrosy!

i reckon they will go down, they were pretty poor at the end of last season, barely brought anyone in, and have the obvious problems off the pitch.
one thing going against them though is that the problems appears to have brought the team together as a united group, much like the Italians in the world cup, however a coupe of early seasons losses and the confidence goes and they'll be in huge trouble.
next season we might have no Midlands in top flight football, for i think the first time ever

I hope not - the Premiership would be very dull without them! I used to live in Brum and have a soft spot for the Villa.

Fingers crossed.
Deadly Doug looks as though he's gonna be selling up sometime soon so they'll probably manage to survive with the extra investment.

Yes, as long as Doug Ellis keeps running the team.

as long that chairman Doug Ellis is still there, i don't see any progress made over the years. they will probably struggle again as in previous season, possibly bottom five!!

Yes, unless they can sort themselves out sharpish which is very unlikely while Ellis is there and Man City to join them.
