It seems Sin City is moving in the Disney World direction. Recent extreme prostitution stings and strip clubs dealing with law issues seem to be taking the "sin" out of Sin City. Also, the movie to a more "family" oriented atmosphere has me really concerned Sin City may be a thing of the past. Thank NEOCON a-wipes!!! Ruin everything!!

I go to Vegas 2 or 3 times a year and I have seen it change, but then it changed back. For example, 10 or 12 years ago the MGM had an amusement park was was promoting kids and families. Now the park is closed and the hotel has build a big pool area where the park was. The Luxor opened with the upper level devoted to kids stuff. They had rides and attractions galore. Now all of that is gone. Even Caesers had areas with motion rides for kids and an arcade area. The last time I was there they ahd deemphasized these.

It is Family friendly if you stay at Circus Circus and they now have Game Works and Movie theaters on the Strip.

The biggest changes I see in Vegas is the price of food, especially the buffets, has skyrocketed. ANd the table stakes are much higher and the slots don't pay like they once did. So to me, its all about the money, forget the family.

Being a native of Las Vegas I can tell you that it's all about the money. Las Vegas has had the reputation of being "sin city" for so long that it's profitable. The title "sin city" only fits the strip and downtown because in the residential areas people with families do live here. I don't think it would do well as a family-friendly Disney type city. People come to Vegas to party, drink, gamble and do things they wouldn't otherwise do back home. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

I think they tried that and decided that it was not as profitable and went back to adult oriented.
I have to remind you though that the prostitution stings are the same as in anytown. Prosititution is ILLEGAL IN Las Vegas/Clark County Nevada. It is LEGAL in the next town Pahrump/Nye County. That is why they had the crack down it is no more legal in Vegas as it is in New York City, or L.A. The crap w/the strip club is more polictical because a strip club owner was paying off city council people.
I think you can still find lots of "sin" here...as well as any city. Still haven't found a city where it's perfectly legal to walk down the main street with a drink in your hand. Don't worry the nasty Vegas you like is still here. It is just not total Anarchy and we still have some laws.

I think people who don't live in Vegas don't really know about Vegas except what they see on TV. People who live and work here don't appreciate the sin city image because really people do live here..no we don't live on the strip. It's not a place for kids to visit, but It would be nice to be recognized for the world class restaurants, shopping, and gambling, and cool hotels. Without everyone thinking all the women are ready to sleep with anyone or they work as strippers.

Sin is what you're making of it (on the subject of own opinion and your favourite faith's theory shape), and the call "Sin city" with regards to Las Vegas is a promoting and marketing gimmick. i've got lived in Las Vegas for over 32 years and purely transplants that got here with extremely a lot of "bags" and vacationers incredibly have self assurance this is a foul place. this is a city interior u . s . a . of america with lots of the main oppressive and visual police, ridiculously conservative state/county/community regulations, and exceptionally Mormon inhabitants (they do no longer drink, gamble, do drugs, or use hookers). aside from the attainable cult reference with the Mormons (for yet another communique), there is not any longer something extra sinful approximately Las Vegas than the different city interior u . s . a . of america. And to sparkling the air I stay in a house, i do no longer artwork in or for any casino or inn, and that i vote and pay taxes like numerous common US citizen. there is not any longer something incorrect with the city aside out of your pre-judged critiques, and that i could thank you for conserving them to your self except you have own authentic studies to proportion with the class.

las Vegas is Gambling, Sex , Gambling
and everyone is walking around smoking those huge cigars
so if that is what you want your kids exposed to
then come to Vegas Baby
