Checking yourself you could introduce bacteria into your body. Leave it to trained medical personnel.

Strange as it sounds, some women test themselves.. You can check yourself using your fingers as measuring tools. 4 fingers is 10 centimeters. * sometimes when you have to have a bowel movement, it is the bodies way of ridding unwanted things. If you reach that point chances are you will already be in the hospital. That happened to me at about 6 centimeters. It isnt easy to check yourself, bc you dont know really what things feel like. Maybe your husband,or, bf could since he is familiar with that area.*

The person would need to medically trained. (EMT, Paramedic, nurse). Most people won't know what to look for.
But, if the baby is ready to be delivered it will feel like you have to go to the bathroom (bowel movement, not urination)

Yep....wash your hands, trim your nails short and then you can check yourself. I found it easiest to reach if I was either sitting on the toilet or standing up with one foot raised up on the toilet or side of the tub.

Let the doctor check you so you do not hurt yourself or the baby.
