Bush goes way beyond pathetic. If you were running for office as a Republican (God help you!) would you want to be associated in any way, shape, or form with a president who has all but bankrupt the country; has gotten us in a never-ending war; has kissed up to the Big Oil companies; has succeeded in screwing up the environment even worse than it was and who is the laughingstock of comedians world-wide for his idiotic comments? Would you want him to come and campaign for you? Wouldn't you try and put as much distance as possible between yourself and such a loser? Finally, some Republicans are beginning to see the light and realizing just what a bozo he is.

As Maryland is a Liberal state, it is not hard to figure out why he might want to distance himself from a Conservative.
