Today's liberals(and you know who you are) show no resemblence to classical liberalism(which was individualistic, laissez faire, and for personal responsibility).

Are these Socialists disguised as liberals the 21st century nazis ? Consider:

- Nazi Germany was very pro-gun control.
- Nazi Germany liked collectivism. You know, "it takes a village" type of thinking.
- Hitler was anti-smoking. Most restaurants and bars in NAzi Germany forbade smoking. Most of the anti-smoking legislation in America today is led by Democrats.
- Hitler was an animal lover and a vegan. Sort of like a PETA member ?
- Nazism was National SOCIALISM, not National Capitalism.

No, Brian, YOU have no understanding of Fascism. It's government control over every aspect of life.

BTW, I'm not a conservative. I consider myself a "classical libertarian" or for the simple minded such as you, close to being a libertarian. I have problems with today's conservatives as well as the so-called liberals.

of course they are. a wolf in sheeps clothing is still a wolf. modern democrats (liberals) bear no resemblance to those from 40 years ago. kennedy, truman....even roosevelt (despite social security) were real leaders, real americans.

now carter and that i d i o t clinton are a totally different matter.

Very adroit (and typical) stringing together of unrelated facts to engineer a smear.

Great Britain, America's closest ally in the 'war on terrorism', has gun control. They are also a big source of PETA members.

National Socialism is now widely recognized as being a fascist rather than a socialist movement. You should recognize deliberate misuse of terms, especially after the whole 'compassionate conservative' debacle.

Of course, you neglected to consider the hyper aggressive militarism that is a prominent feature of fascism. Sounds like Bush to me.

I think both Liberals and Conservatives have fascist view points. Liberals want Big government to dominate our lives in many cases, such as governmental control of the economy (the biggest difference between modern and classical liberalsim), whereas social conservatives want the government to impose "family values" on us through police-state like tactics. All of these view points are fascist, so yes, Liberals have fascist view points, but so do conservatives.

I think.. You are putting together vague similarities. But.. Good point.

Try and shake those liberals! Wake the mofos up! They need to beat people like you for making Nazi interpretations on people. The people that want to be nazis nowadays usually are very blatant about it. No one is discreet. I'm not a Dem, I'm not a Rep, I'm not an Indep either.

I don't vote, because the world sucks no matter who is leading it.

I don't care if you own a gun just be responsible. I love to smoke a cigarette after I eat my meat and french fried potatoes. My mother always tried to get me to eat more veggies. You would consider me a liberal but I like to think of myself as an independent. Turn off your talk radio show and start reading books that will make you think about all the possibilities. Reciting rhetoric put in your brain-washed head makes you a likely candidate to goose-step down the street proudly.

I don't think you know what fascism is.

It's the blending of the corporate sector and government sector to create one superunit that controls every aspect of our lives.

In that sense, today's "conservative" leadership is fascist.

EDIT: You and I are saying the same thing regarding the definition of fascism. Here's Webster's definition:
"A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism."

Thank you for calling me simple-minded. That's the best insult I've had all day.

It is a blessing that they(today's liberals) can't stop bickering among themselves (or pretending to be moderate like Rotten-Clinton)long enough to appoint a Fuhrer.although, Howard Dean does foam the mouth like Hitler.

Ahh yes....Nazis also locked up disenters and people they didn't like. Hmmm....don't know what to with jews...send em to a camp. Don't know what to do with arabs...send em to guantanamo. Naw they don't get a trial.

The Nazis were also always looking for people who didn't aggree with them. Wonder if they used illegal wire tapping.

Goofy little mustasche is kind of like funny looking ears.
