This is a good question. I borrowed my mum's 'Bread' DVDs (season 1 & 2) at the weekend and it bought back some memories, even though the swearing had been cut out. It's not the same without Grandad telling people to 'P*** off*
Kids programmes would include He-Man, She-Ra, Pob, Worzel Gummidge & Ragdolly Anna, coz I loved those. These would be on in the morning between 6am & 9am, and between 3pm & 6pm in the afternoons
Between 9am & 2pm and 6pm & 9pm I'd have Sitcoms & Comedy including Bread, Brush Strokes, Fawlty Towers, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Only Fools & Horses.
Once we got to the watershed I've have stuff like 'The Young Ones' & The New Statesman, and re-run 'Spitting Image'. - I don't really remember the other comedies, because I was born in 1978, and I was allowed to watch 'The Young Ones' as a special treat.
I would also show films from the 80's on this channel, again the times would depend on the age range likely to be watching, and Saturday & Sunday would be different because it's the weekend and the kids would be home from School/playgroup etc,.

Mornings: Comedies like Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Chico and the Man, I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore Show, etc.
Afternoons: Westerns like Tales of the Old West, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Rawhide, The Big Valley, Bonanza , The Rebel
Evenings: Drama, cops&robbers shows like Hill Street Blues, The Naked City, The Streets of San Francisco, The Untouchables, Gangbusters. Also, some sci-fi series I haven't seen in awhile, The Outer Limits, any of the Star Trek series, Quantum Leap , Babylon 5(and its spinoff, Crusade, Battlestar Galactica (the original series)
There are probably some I've left out but this is a good start.

It would have to show "The Twilight Zone" everyday. It was the thinking man program with great plot twists and many moral messages thrown in to make you think about life in ways you might not have considered before. It also always reinforced the "be careful what you wish for" theme. Really really great TV. It should air early in the day to give you something to think about all day and again late at night to give you a shiver before bed

Knightmare would have to be the usual kids program, alongside Dungeons + Dragons and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. I miss those days lol
