energy or vibrational medicine has been practiced in many traditional/nonwestern cultures with great success for millenia. it is beginning to catch on now in ours. the theory behind the practices is that an energy body underlies our physical body and by working on it we can beneficially effect the physical. thus such practices as acupuncture, homeopathy, reiki, etc. are brought to bear. please see the first or second page of my "best answers" for a lengthier discussion of reiki, acupuncture, etc. the questions you would be looking for have the words acupuncture, or reiki in them. you're definitely on the right track. good luck!

I took the 1st level of "reiki" healing. It is basically about a human calling upon the massive healing energies of the universe, the earth, god, whatever you want to call it. It is about being a conductor of this energy & using your hands to conduct the energy. I felt my hands get hot & I could feel the energy. Personally, I think some of the ritual involved in it is unnecessary - I think anyone can do it - just believe. Try going to a reiki circle sometime - it is pretty cool - you can definitely feel the energy entering your body & it is very relaxing.

You are a statically charged delusional who is easily led by other weird hippy delusionals who have no other gift other than some crazy magic stuff. It is a psychic's or other crapworker's natural trick to tell those you that you on have a similar power, and you just need to cultivate and perfect it. Don't get me wrong, I may come across as insulting, but I am not calling you stupid. Just easily led. The feeling you felt when she was moving her hands was created by your mind. Which is more powerful than any crazy reiki crap. Since you are not "in to the paranormal", take that advantage you have and have a read on what minds can do to convince people of any warped concept. And read up on static electricity. I was having fun with that when I was 7.

All these type healings are basically the same. But with so many variations them seem different. I use the calling upon the healing power of GOD, who graciously taught me how, As with any procedure, you have crack pots touting themselves, and other ignoring the truth about them.
