They're following their interpretation of Leviticus 19:27. As for the women wearing wigs, in the Middle Ages the idea grew up among them that the hair of women emitted rays to cloud the minds of men, and for their own protection their wives should have shaved heads. They wear wigs or scarves in public. Too bad. I find bald women sexy!

Most Orthodox Jews do not have the "curly long bits." It is mainly Hasidic Jews who keep this custom. I've included a link below.

Usually, which too long for me. I believe it depends on the guy as well as his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other people can't.

OK NOT ALL JEWS DO THIS BUT SOME DO BECAUSE JEWISH MEN AARE PROHIBITED TO CUT THEIR SIDEBURNS ABOVE A CERTAIN POINT AND THEY GROW IT EXTRA LONG JUST TO MAKE SURE.
