I have done this several times and often wondered if others could actually do this or if it were even happening to me. But I have since learned that it is possible to "catch-up" where one leaves off in a dream and is awake momentarily. I have also learned that it is possible to manipulate dreams and almost, almost, be in charge of whats happening. Keep in mind, this is very hard to accomplish, but just as a catch-up dream, it is possible.

Sometimes. Lucid dreams are even better, when you realize you are dreaming and you can do all the things you want to do in real life but can't without being arrested.

from time to time i will do this. on party, i will dream of something that I awaken (for the day) and that evening i will pass decrease back to sleep and the dream starts very nearly completely from the position it left off. it is kinda freaky even as that occurs.

yes i did once, but it wasn't a good dream. I was in an airport and the nemesis (from resident evil) had taken over one of the terminals and my brother (who is a soldier) had to go and kill him.
good luck.
