I am sorry, that is tough. I am a mom too and I worry very much about that when my son gets older. Someone once told me, if you do your job right and are a great parent your kids will grow up and leave you. It's very sad but you know that you have done your job right :-) Know that he is probably having as hard of a time as you are with it, maybe more so. Keep in close contact with him, visit often or invite him to come back as often as he'd like. Even though it might not seem like it, he is struggling with this as well. No one wants to leave his or her mom, especially if she's a good mom.

Yes indeed I can, My youngest daughter left home just 9 weeks ago. it hurt like crazy and she is in fact on the other side of the country. As a mother you have all these fears for them. But you have to give them your blessing no matter how hard it is..And it is..You can always keep in contact by phone, And don't forget to tell him " If you ever feel you need to come home , Just ring and a room will be ready" Then if it does'nt work they will come home..Good luck.

Sure, I can relate to that. When my daughter got married, not only did she leave, she took my granddaughter with her, which tore my heart out. It was a good move for all concerned however, and they are happy and well-adjusted now. It will be fine Mom, trust me.

when its time to let them go, there is no stopping it. he has to go on his own and experience the world for himself. just keep in contact with him.

THINK OF YOURSELF AND WHEN YOU WERE THAT AGE. DID YOU LEAVE AND LIVED YOUR OWN LIFE? IF SO LET YOUR DAUGHTER LIVE HERS. IF NOT, LET YOUR DAUGHTER LIVE HER LIFE ANYWAY. I HAVE THREE DAUGHTERS AND THEY ARE LIVING THEIR LIFE HAPPILY AND LOVE ME FOR IT.
