I've just been told by my mother that talked to my doctor that I am having a "manic episode". I know that means a break through of some sort. I haven't been sleeping well and I've had a lot of energy when I should be dead tired. My emotions are all over - BUT THE TRUTH IS I FEEL FINE! Like, I don't feel bad or icky or anything. My doctor says I may be Bipolar. What do I do? I'm afraid now people with think less of me. I'm actually scared...
Any advice on how to handle this new life change?

Are you a teenager? All teenagers have mood swings. It comes with the territory. I would ask my mother to allow me to get a second opinion, personally. Are they expecting you to take medication? I would research that very carefully. Go to the library and read as much as you can.

If you still feel like you have it, here is a book for patients and their families.

Bipolar Disorder: A Guide for Patients and Families (2nd Edition) (Paperback) by Francis Mark Mondimore

this is actually a q for mental section not polls and surveys, secondly you are in denial. lots of people live with it you are not a worse person cause of it and you can control it. stop stressing and speak to your doctor about it.
