If the tree was in you yard yes, if it was in the neighbors yard and fell into yours then it is his responsibility

If it was the homeowner's tree, and it fell due to neglect or damage caused or ignored by the homeowner, yes, but only with the other yard owner's permission, unless there is immediate danger to others.

if a homeowners tree falls into a neighbors yard, Yes it is their responsibility to have it removed and clean the mess up. and if any damages occur, the homeowner is responsible for that also. That is what homeowners inscurance is for.......Hope it wasn't your tree....

If the tree is growing in your yard then yes it is your responsibility.
Just be thankful that it didn't crush a house. In my area there are
always people that will come in and cut up the tree, and clean up the mess for the wood.

This depends on local statutes but normally if most of the root base is in your yard then the tree is financially your responsibility.

if you are in a wood burning area, offer to split the removal with the wood going to them, or u could just offer the whole cost to them in exchange for not charging them Shade rental from years of a tree doing its job.
or better yet, when its dark just go out and push the whole tree and trunk onto their property, then saunter back into the house and pactice what my husband preaches "THE NO NEIGHBORS POLICY" by ignoring them, soon they will stop squawking and go away...just have patience!

In most states, yes it is! If the tree stump is on your property and it fell into another lot, YOU must take care of the issue.
