Now that it is self evident that United States government, Israel and some of its other cronies are hell bent on destroying whatever bit of civilization was achieved post WWII including respect for international norms, What are the options available before those who still believe in humanity, coexistence and respect for human diversity?

I think patch work wont do now because they have lost their sanity completely...

I think there are several essentials to getting from here (perhaps the most dangerous point in history) to there (a time of peace and security internationally):

1- Emasculate corporate power over nations and peoples wordlwide.
2- Reverse population growth by universally adopting a two child maximum for all people.
3- Work to reduce over consumption by 'first world' people. Reduce, reuse and recycle and if you don't need it don't buy it no matter what the commercials tell you.
4- Get informed, get involved, take responsibility (be adults and recognize your responsibility to educate yourself about political realities so that you can effectively exercise your voting franchise).
5- Begin the process of eliminating all forms of prejudice whether based on race, ethnicity, religion or class. Rejecting humour based on prejudice, rejecting patriotism especially in its extreme forms, rejecting any claim by anyone to having a monopoly on truth would be a good place to start.
6- Become citizens of the world in your heart and mind. Forget the antiquated concept of 'national interests' and focus instead on the broader interests of all mankind.
7- Remember our history or we will be doomed to repeat it.
8- Learn to admit when we are wrong, to accept our responsibility for our own failures and misdeeds and save our harshest criticism for ourselves rather than our 'enemies'.

I don't know if there is any order of priority for the list above. Perhaps we must do all of these things simultaneously.

If we all learned to love one another instead of having a take and take mentality than the world would change. There should not be one single person who has to go without food but millions do it nightly when there is enough for everyone. The world doesn't give of themselves anymore. They give with money because the value of love and compassion has become worth less than a penny. So people would rather buy peace of mind by donating to causes when if they donated their time or words of wisdom it would do much more.

Somehow we need to separate religion from politics across the whole world. Wherever religion and government become mixed, bad news results. The most advanced, prosperous, enlightened, and free societies in the world are the most secular, and the most backwards, horrific violators of human rights are the fundamentalist governments.

I have no idea how to accomplish this though, especially with people in my government trying to assert that I belong to a "christian nation".

It is crystal clear to me that the defenders of civilized societies are....

the United States

the United Kingdom

Australia

Canada

and all the other countries banding together to fight terrorism at its roots, wherever they may be. This is undoubtedly the most important battle ever and this strategy to cooperate will prevail until we exterminate the forces of evil. It is good to note that many muslim countries too have joined hands with the West to rid society of the barbarism of fundamentalist religious groups.

Well, strapping a bomb belt to your kid and sending him into a cafe in Tel Aviv isn't what I would call a "strategy." Until arab terrorists are brought under control - by which I mean killed - there will be no peace.
