How basic?
The standard interfaces are: keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

An interface is something that lets you interact with a computer.

An OS is the Operating System. Windows is one such OS, as is Apple's OSX or any incarnation of Linux. There are others, but these are the major ones.

An application is a program like Word or Internet Explorer or Paint.

A disk drive is where the computer's memory is. All computers running Windows will have a C drive (C:\), which is called the hard drive. This usually has the most memory of all the drives.
The A drive (A:\) is for floppy disks, and has the smallest (max capacity: 1.44 mb). Modern computers also have a D drive (D:\), which is the CD or DVD drive.
**Note: one may also use/have a disk burner drive for writing information to CDs and DVDs.
There are also flash drives, which are more portable than a hard drive and have more space than a floppy.

The basic unit of memory for a computer is the bit. To the computer, a bit is one of two states: on or off.
Four bits = 1byte
+/-1000 bytes=1 kilobyte
I think that 1000kb= 1mb, but I'm not sure.
1024mb= 1gigabyte
About 1000GB= 1terabyte (more memory than you'll ever need).

Most modern OSs use what is known as Graphic User Interface, or GUI. This lets us click on icons instead of memorizing commands.
All computer programs are written in code, of which there are many sorts. Programming languages aren't my forte, but here are some: C, C+, C++, Pascal, HTML, Java, Python, etc.

There are some surprising responses already published, even however increasing your RAM would not clarify why your device is slower NOW, yet exchange into advantageous 6 months in the past. i does no longer throw funds on the subject merely yet. Registry cleaners are an excellent thought. i'm unsure which to advise, yet I used to apply Registry Mechanic while i exchange into working Vista. It did an excellent sufficient activity. merely verify you backup your registry in the past making any alterations. For sluggish complicated rigidity get admission to cases, i could verify you run the two CHKDISK (to locate and proper disk blunders) and DEFRAG (yet till you're strapped for funds, do no longer use Microsoft's outfitted-in utility -- fork over a pair of money and get some thing effectual like Diskeeper). on account which you have an anti-virus/spyware/malware equipment and you replace and run it normally, you would be good for that. As a final hotel and in case you experience mushy with it, run MSCONFIG from a command line and un-verify any applications which you be attentive to you do no longer could run on startup. additionally (and be very careful with this), run centers.MSC from the command line and disable any centers you do no longer choose. in case you're actually not conscious of those 2 recommendations, you won't prefer to objective them. I cautioned a pal try this, he disabled the homestead windows deploy service and could no longer make certain why he could no longer deploy something anymore!
