Sad to say I have more VHS tapes than I do DVDs only for the fact that I was not willing to replace them all and to wait 5 years just to do it all again.
I know technology is advancing every day but most people cannot afford it, or they try to to keep up with the Jones's and they are barley paying their bills.
I am just not willing to to that. I figure that in time I will be caught up.

NO!!
I still watch VHS too! Face it, if a movie is older and made in VHS low quality format, why buy the HD format? That's redicolous!
I agree! We're not made of money, makes you want to download more of that stuff just to annoy them!
Besides, I can't tell the difference between DVD and HD anyway, all looks fine to me. Sometimes VHS is good enough too

why would you have to, I'm pretty sure that the high definition part is in the TV itself not the DVD player if there was a HI DEF DVD player maybe it would only play HDDVDs but since it's a TV it should play anything as long as it has the right input/output plugs.

No, you can get a highspeed internet connection and a Blu-ray burner...then "acquire" your movies and burn.
