If it's divX or mpeg 4 coded film and you want to play on a DVD standard player it will need to be converted into mpeg 2.
There are free converters out there on the Internet, but it will take 2-4 hours depending on you computer.
Nero 7 has a DVD authoring programme "Nero Vision" this will convert and create a DVD for you.

If you have Windows XP with media centre then save it in media centre and burn the disc using your rewriter from there.
Otherwise simply go into your DVDwriter program and select "burn disc"

explore "my computer", click that video file and drag it to the disk drive on the left side, and it should start burning it.
