I think with instant food you need to add water (think instant oatmeal) - ready-to-eat food is just that - ready to eat without any preperation (like a Twinkie).

Ready to Eat means that you can eat it just as it is when you open the package. Instant means the food needs some preparation - usually anywhere from 1-5 minutes.

Instant food usually requires some kind of addition like water to finish it, like instant pudding, soup, etc. Ready to eat is just that.

I think ready to eat can be eaten right away but instant is usually just quicker that the alternatives eg instant coffee, rice or mash - you ust add water instead of making from scratch

Instant means you add water and heat. Ready to eat means you just open the package and eat it how it comes.

the difference is instant food you microwave it then eat ready to eat food you just eat it without putting in heat or hot temps.

Instant means you have to mix it with something - - like water,milk, etc. Ready-to-eat -- means "open and eat" ---
