First, I like your question!
Unsatisfied needs seem to motivate me more than satisfied ones.
I have an appropriate amount of money to survive so its one of my satisfied needs (I can do without much more of it).
I have not acquired enough education which causes me to read and learn incessantly. I can't get enough knowledge ... I guess self actualization is the highest of my needs because I would rather improve myself in all ways possible, but
at the same or greater importance is my son, then a desire to increase my self-esteem by keeping my promises to myself.
These three subjects appear to be the primary ingredients with which I drive myself from day to day.
Of course, there is always dissonance ... I'm not always sure which to seek first because they all seem to share first place.

this is actually a trick question becuase a person never has the exact same motivation for every situation!!! il explain...

for instance... in school your motivation mite be your parents will ground you if you dont do good or you mite be afraid ur parents get dissapointed in you etc...

When u study/ work u mite be a good worker because you are afraid to fail, fear of failure is a big motivator in most people!!! thus u study/work harder to be the exact opposite of what u fear iow a sucess in what ever you do!!!

when people say their kids or family are there motivators which is a very good motivator i mite add its because they see their kids/family as a gift or a miracle and want to be the best at parenting they can be and their worst feir is failing their kids... now the same goes for the family as a motivator, when u appreciate your family etc, you want them to be proub of them yet again the fear of failure comes into play... as it does in most cases so basically u strive to beat ur fear of failure in whatever you do or to make u feel asif you have overcome the obstical in your way!!!

now pscyhological studies have shown that the fear of failing at a task is 1 of the biggest motivators amongs people especially people who are starting work or studies...

hope this answers your question???
