What was the secret that made the Bills return to the Bowl 4 years in a row and then lose the Big Game ? Is it because Buffalo,NY is a city of losers? Is there a network conspiracy because Buffalo is a small market town and no one likes to go there except Paul Maguire who happens to live in Orchard Park?

Let's start with the last question. "Is there a network conspiracy because Buffalo is a small market town and no one likes to go there except Paul Maguire who happens to live in Orchard Park?" Small markets are plentiful in the NFL, Green Bay, Jacksonville, New Orleans, etc. Yet they do not have issues with winning, or making playoffs, Green bay has won over a dozen NFL titles(counting pre-Super Bowl as well), Jacksonville almost did it a few years ago, and is poised to do it again. Only New Orleans rivals Buffalo in the fact of inept and incompetent ownership. Tom Benson isn't the brightest bulb, and neither is Ralph Wilson. Networks will show your team if you are marketable, Buffalo in the 90's was very marketable. Now they are not.

Second question "What was the secret that made the Bills return to the Bowl 4 years in a row and then lose the Big Game ?"
-Hall of Fame players, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith. Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy, now past his prime, but hopefully can still select good people. An innovative and explosive offense. An athletic and marathon defense that could stay on the field for 30+ minutes a game. The apathy that existed in the AFC at the time, and the dominance and better players, and better coaching that existed in the NFC. Since the advent of free-agency that has levelled off, with the AFC as the dominant conference, but then it was the NFC.

What made the Bills such a dominant regular season team? Conditioning, players, scheme, game-day coaching.
What made them tank in the Super Bowl?
Exhaustion, drafting from the end of the rounds, facing a well rested and better coached team.
By the time the Super Bowl came around, the Bills had played 18 high tempo games in a very physical division, and conference. A number of teams were on the hump, and couldn't get over, but they were good enough to force the Bills to play their best games just to get to the Super Bowl. Frank Reich's comeback? Once they faced the Giants they were tired, and New York was prepared and had the defense to counter their offense.
Washington was on a tear, and Buffalo was beginning to show age in certain areas.
Dallas was just a better team, and Buffalo was exhausted physically and mentally from the previous defeats to face a younger and ultimately better foe.

The Bills have numerous Superbowl. On PlayStation's X-boxes and computers all over the world.
In reality, the Bills could win a Super Bowl. There could be peace in the Middle East, and I could spend a night with Reese Witherspoon. However I'm putting the odds at about .01%

As a Patriots fan, the Bills worry me with the quick athletic defense and Willis and Lee Evans, but until they get a franchise quarterback, I do not see them being serious contenders for the Super Bowl. They have to move past Losman and find a way to get a Pro Bowl QB and then they could definitely win a Super Bowl.

Buffalo had a GREAT team that went to the Super bowl 4 times...they just didn't have the killer instinct.

yes, with Levy back in the mix, he should help to evaluate talent better than the old GM. they can probably in the next 2-3 years make a good playoff push and then anything can happen.
