i have a spelling competition with a friend on here....he spells lasy and i spell lazy....can any one tell me the correct spelling??

Lazy. There's no difference in American / English spelling - this one's always been spelt with a "z". As can be found in any dictionary.
Lazy=A. adj.

1. a. Of persons (also of animals), their disposition, etc.: Averse to labour, indisposed to action or effort; idle; inactive, slothful.

Depends on what part of the world you're from. If you're from the UK it's lasy. If you're from USA it's LAZY. So in essence they are both correct.
