Living in China, I can tell you that your entire question is totally uncalled for. Since I have been here, I have never heard about a Buddhist holiday. Most of the families I know own small dogs for a pet.
These people are not your brethren. I would imagine they would never be even a friend of yours. But with that said I find the Chinese people to be warm and accepting of me. I am married to a Chinese woman and she said many years ago and during a time there was starvation, some people did eat dogs. In the USA and during the Civil war, many rebel soldiers also ate dogs. Oh, they were not Chinese.
You remind me of a racist. If you can hate people like you hate the Chinese, you are obviously alone and miserable.

The trouble with bigotted people like you is that you never check your facts but chose to condemn others with generalised sweeping, malicious and false statement. Buddhists do not encourage eating any meat and most are vegetarians. In fact Buddhist considers the eating of dog meat as a cardinal sin. As for your generalisation of the Chinese eating dog meat, I can assure everyone that this is not true. There are a lot of Chinese who loves dogs and in fact in the Chinese heavenly pantheon of deities there is in fact a dog that had been deified. So please do not spread your lies through the net and try to upset others. We should in fact feed you as a leftover to our dogs who are better than people like you.

"Our Chinese" = Who do you refer to????
Where are your Chinese??? in which part of this planet??? You have your own Chinese in your house who kills dogs and cooks dog meat for you so that now you want to share this idea with us?
In Hong Kong here, eating / cooking dog is illegal. No supermarket or store here sells dog meat. I believe dogs lovers who have dogs as pets would never think of killing a dog and cook it for dinner.
Seems you do not know Buddhists are vegetarians or you asked this question because you want to insult the Chinese Buddhists.
Do you hate Chinese (your Chinese)? Why?
