Did you replace the head bolts? It is common for the bolts to stretch and should be replaced anytime you change head gaskets etc.. Also if your head was shaved the bolts could be too long and need shorter ones. Hope I have been helpful.

No matter what the problem is , you will need to take the heads off again. Be very careful when you do so you can look for clues. Is there fresh rust and the bolts , look at the head and gasket surfaces as soon as you take the heads off , not the next day.You might even try a compression check before you take the heads off.

Head bolts are typically torque to yield bolts, and must be replaced each time the head is removed. Did you have the head pressure checked? The machine shop should have done this before giving it back to you and have said something about it.

What exactly caused the engine problems? That will give more clues as to what might be wrong than shots in the dark. What lead up to it? Did you overheat the engine?

Dear mechanis's wife, If your husband is a "mechanic" and you still don't have the answer to this. Then - Yes - the crack head is most likely your husband. Don't let him fix your car. Your Friend
