Does the NSA run agents like the CIA does, or is this just a CIA operation. Also Robert Baer, was he a NOC or did he operate under an embassy cover?

Is what a CIA op? NSA is only subject to joint ops with CIA if the event/ affair is/ has taken place outside U.S. Soil/ waters. FBI and NSA coincide more frequently than w/ CIA.

Take note: by John Stockwell, former CIA " ...the CIA has overthrown functioning democracies in over 20 countries."

NSA has no jurisdiction over such..and would definately be at of no fault for overthrowing any type of government but the United States.

As far as Mr. Baer, he operated under embassy cover as a spy w/ CIA.

As far as I know Baer was never affiliated with the NOC.

--Hope that helps.. Rob :)

As a general rule of thumb, the NSA does not "run" agents like the CIA does. By executive charter, it is not that type of organization. And who knows the real truth about Baer? Intelligence is the supreme game of chess, complete with feints, traps, pitfalls and sacrifices.

The NSA spends the bulk of their efforts in analysis of data. They get the data through sophisticated eavesdropping, satellite photos, and computer hacking. They do not use field spies.
