I would probably do just that. There is no way to deal with that situation lightly. He will never get what he deserves. Life in prison is still letting him live and the death sentence is still easy. He won't feel any pain.

Having to see him is going to hurt and might bring up a bunch of feelings including extreme hatred. But the only thing you can do is keep your cool and hope that he gets whats coming to him. Because if you leap across the court room and try to "rip his head off" will only put you behind bars to.

This is a really hard one until you have gone through it you can't possibly say what your reaction would be. Obviously I am sorry to hear about your daughter but for her sake and memory you should try to keep your diginity and not go down to his level just stay calm and be grateful that some sort of justice is being done by your daughter.
Violence is never the answer but then after taking someones life I think prison is not enough but that is the world we live in. Look them straight in the eye keep your cool and I sincerly hope you get through this.
Another option is to go to your doctor and get something that will calm you down.
Good Luck

This must be the question that I have spend most time thinking about ever. I have a daughter myself and have tried to put myself in your shoes. I would probably have hoped for the murderer to be acquitted only to get my hands personally on him or to pay someone to take revenge on him. I however doubt that revenge would help. I live in a violent country with the highest murder and violent crime rate - South Africa. I have seen and know many people who have gone through the same agony as you have. Forgiveness is a powerfull healer. In your case the murderer has been caught and will hopefully pay for what he has done. To find closure and to be able to move on in life, you need to somehow try to forgive this person, only then will you be able to move on. I know it must be very difficult to do this, and you will probably disagree now. By carrying hate for this person around for the rest of your life, will not change a thing.
You are in my prayers.

I am so sorry for your situation; as a parent, I would feel the same way if it happened to my child. I would like to think that I would be able to trust that God had a plan and that my child was with God, but no one knows what they would actually feel or do when something like that actually happens. In all honesty, I would hope that they could impose the death penalty so the monster could not rip another child from their family.

As painful as it may be you need to just sit there and look at that man in his face and let him see what he has done to you by taking your child. It would be pointless to go in there and act a fool. You would only jepordize yourself into going to jail, be patient, GOD will have his way with him. As a mother I could not imagine having to do this, but as a child of molestation I had to face my violator, and for him to see that I was hurt by his actions, but strong enough to face him let out a relief that I had been longing for. Good luck, and may the LORD bless you.

I came face to face with my fathers killer at the old bailey london.

It was one of the hardest things i've had to do.

Believe it or not i had mixed feelings i was such a state my two cousins had to carry me out for fear i might get locked up myself
True i wanted to kill him!!!!!

The worst thing about it.............. he was aquited.

Four months later he murders his mum and dad.

Even though he was a heroin addict i still have no pity for him,
i'd love them to give me 2 mins in a cell with him thats all i need.

My thouhgts are with you at this streesful time.

I am very sorry for the loss of your daughter. You are reacting like any mother would...as long as you don't actually do it. That would make you stoop to his level. My heart goes out to you. I hope today goes well and he gets what he deserves.

My heart goes out to you!!!!
I honestly don't know what I'd do....I'm sure I'd want to inflict the pain on him that I'd be feeling....but then it wouldn't change things...so therefore you have to do something positive in the wave of all the negative emotions--something that will make an impact in a positive way!
You're in my prayers!
