if your first date i.e 27/05/06 is in A1 Column and second date i.e. 26/06/07 is in A2 Column then use this formula =A2-A1 and then select Comma Style from the formating toolbar.

Use this formula in whatever cell you want the calculation to show:
=days360(A1,A2)
with A1 being your start date and A2 being your end date. This will give you the # of days based on a 360 day year.

You could also enter:
=A2-A1
This gives you the true # of days based on a 365 day year

Make sure your date cells are formatted as dates, not text, and that your answer is formatted as general or a number.

i believe excel has a fixed number associated with the date. then you can just do a subtraction.
