Most internships are for college students who are established in their field of study and within 1 or 2 years of graduating. Some internships (mainly government) are available for younger college students or recent HS grads, but they're very competitive. Your best bet would be to ask around and network with adults you already know, to see if anyone knows of something.

There are lots of good paying jobs that you don't need a college degree for, but they're hard work (construction,etc.). If you're looking for more of a business-type job, again you don't neccessarily need a degree, but you will have to start at the lowest positions (salesperson, bank teller, secretary) and work your way up to a more managerial role by proving you understand the company and can handle the responsibility. A lot of these companies may even pay for you to take college classes that relate to their business, so it would be a way to get all or most of your college tuition paid for while you work. So, when you graduate you'd have a degree and years of work experience. Large banks and other businesses will often do this.

Still, as someone mentioned, a college degree is really the standard for almost any professional job. Even more than that, I think the trend now is moving towards specialized college degrees. In other words, liberal arts degrees (english, history, psychology, sociology, women's studies, etc.) are becoming more and more worthless compared to a science, engineering, or even a business degree. This is because the 2nd group already has knowledge in a specific area of the company's operations, so these people can jump right with much less difficulty and require less training.

Correction. You NEED to talk with your guidance counselor. Don't think you're the only one confused. Most high school students have a hard time looking for answers. There's nothing stupid if your questions concern your progress. And about the MBA, it depends. Some degrees take 5yrs, while some take 4yrs. After the degree, then you get to decide if you'll get an MBA. But as I most often heard, social skills are a great addition to your resume.

Go to college.

A bachelor's degree is the new high school diploma.
