Most of the "Hair and Nails" vitamin supplements seem to be variations on theme of a Vitamin B complex. When I had problems with my hair suddenly falling out (don't ask!) my GP recommended taking a daily Vitamin B complex and I noticed that not only my hair, but also my nails started growing much faster and were better condition!

Not being a doctor myself I have no idea why, and maybe it's not safe for everyone to suddenly take huge doses of the stuff...but you could check with your own GP and see if it's alright for you (or just start eating loads of Vitamin B rich vegetables and see if that helps!)

I use Vaseline Intensive Care Hand and Nail cream. It is in a pink tube. I find it works really well and my nails are definitely stronger. I only use it once or twice a day too and have noticed the difference!

Also, try not to use nail varnish too often and when you do use a good remover that says it will strengthen or moisturise your nails as I find mine break loads after having varnish on and then removing it.

I tried eating jelly every day but it didn't work. I knew it wouldn't but I just like jelly!

I had really weak nails until i started to use Liz Earle's super balm, it really is amazing. (I got mine from Q.V.C, but i have seen it on eBay and she has her own web site www.lizearle.com)
All you need to do is rub it into your cuticles twice a day (or as often as you remember) and you will see results in about a week, my nails now grow faster are stronger.
I also invested in a block nail file (about £1 from super drug) to sort out the ridges and to make my nails shine,
It might also be an idea to get your nails done and to wear nail vanish as this will also make them stronger and if they are nice you will be less likely to pick or bite them.

regular manicures(hot oil espically) over time can gradually build up the strength and condition of your nails. manicures can be costly tho so purchase a nail strengthner which u can use at home just like a varnish. other tips dont use your nails as tools, and try wearing gloves when washing the dishes , also in cold weather. incase u havnt noticed im a beauty therapist so take my advice grl....

Mine were too, I had some acrylic nail extensions done a couple of months ago and this left them in a state. I would recommend any clear nail strengthener and if you can, have a proper manicure, it does make a difference.

By working from the inside out. You have to eat right and drink milk. I have very strong nails and I don't do anything in particular. I wash dishes a lot also and I swim. No problem. Maybe it is also hereditary.

Prenatal vitamins work really good, but they also have nail, hair and skin vitamins that are just as good. Then there is a product by Sally Hansen that is a clear coat that hardens and actually does make your nails hard as nails (I think that's what it is called too - hard as nails)

try geletin pills...you would have to eat jello all day everydey to see a difference with that. or as someone else mentioned you could take pre-natal vitamins. they work really well on skin, hair and nails. you can find both of these at a drug store over the counter.
