People do it because that's a natural thing for us to do. If we didn't have sex none of us would be here writing in yahoo answers right now. I'm glad sex is a part of what we do. I think it's the greatest feeling you can get. Why is this bothering you so much?

There are very two very strong drives in most living creatures and human beings are not the exception - to survive and reproduce.
As an aside, the word "f___" is not shocking unless you are prepubescent and even then most kids have heard the word already. You would sound more impressive if you used words like intercourse. It's along the line of kids, illiterates or the emotionally stunted saying dick instead of penis. It's not impressive and people don't think you are funny or clever.

Partially out of boredom. Partially because of the innate drive to do so. The overall purpose is to procreate however.
