The Dr. Suess books for sure - especially The Lorax and The Sleep Book. I also enjoyed the Berenstain Bear books and Curious George.

I loved the Frog and Toad are Friends books when I was really young. I also really liked The Boxcar Children series. There's tons others that I loved, but these ones stand out in my mind the most.

Oh, and I loved books about horses, I loved Black Beauty and the Flicka books.

It is now a "banned" book because it is now considered racist, but it was "Little Black Sambo". I never saw it as racist, I just saw it as story of a little boy and liked his adventures and would have love to have been the character at that time.
