You should not 'chew' cloves.
If you have mild tooth pain or bad breath then you can place 1-2 cloves in your mouth. It really helps if you place the clove in between the tooth that hurts. Try not to chew it, if you chew it then just remove the bits. Eventually after a few hours the clove will become soft, at which point it should be thrown away.
It does not have any serious side effects as long as I am aware.
However remember it is the juice of the clove that helps the tooth pain, it is not advisable to chew the clove. If tooth ache persists, see your dentist.
Hope this helps !

Well, I am 17 years old, just became a vegan after being a vegetarian for 11 years. Ill give you my opinion. When you first start you will go through detox. It sucks. To be honest, it may be worse if you are going off cold turkey, so you may want to take things out of your diet slowly (remove all animal products in a month). Depending where you are, it is not expensive. Fruits and Veggies are the most natural thing you can eat, but there are vegan microwavable meals. In our family, we go out to eat a lot, and I can usually find something, even I have to tell the waiter to remove something. As for fast food-There is really nothing at McDonalds, and the veggie burger at burger king has eggs. Taco Bell has options, just remove the cheese, and subway will become your best friend. Because I haven't eaten meat in over 11 years, I can't compare, and although I want everyone to be vegan, I have to be honest, and meat probably does taste a little better, but you are trading a little bit of extra taste for loads of health problems. You may make mistakes at first, because in a lot of stuff you are used to eating there are animal products you would never guess would be there. Once I became vegan, in fact I found a lot of the products I was eating was a vegetarian had fish in them. I promise though, although it may be hard at first, you will feel better, and you will be happier. I became vegan for ethical reasons, but I got loads of positive side effects. Feel free to email me with questions, I will be happy to help! Also, I talk to a few vegans on skype, all who had the same worries you did. They will help give you advice. Email me if you are interested and I will give you my skype name :)

both are roughly the same except when it comes to protein. MOST veggies include a respectable amount of protein; fruits does not.

Surely there are better things to chew than gloves, what about socks or shirts or other items of discarded clothing?
