I would love to bore you to sleep, but I didn't get this message in time. Breath count backwards from 25 picture each number as though it's in a box unwrap it see the number then go to 24 etc. I don't know if it works cuz I only go to bed when I'm tired, but my morning radio guys SWEAR by it and then after they announced it, everyone called in and said it really works. You're supposed to be asleep by 18.

How to Sleep Easily
Sleep is a hard thing to do when you are wide awake and bored. This is a helpful article on how to sleep easily. Enjoy!
Steps
First, try counting backwards from 100 to 1. After you do that simply think of something... and your mind will take off and go with it. If this does not work... go to the steps below.
Meditation helps. It relaxes you and makes you feel sleepy.
Breathe in through your mouth and fill your lungs up with air like a balloon.
Release the air like letting go of a balloon.
Close your eyes and concentrate on that breathing. Breathe out any tension and stress.
Think, "I am breathing in... I am breathing out".
Once you feel a little more relaxed, send the air to different parts of your body (picture in your mind it's going to places). Start with your head, and once it feels heavy and relaxed, go to your neck, then shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, chest, torso, thighs, shins, toes, etc.
You will feel heavy, sleepy and relaxed.
Tips
Don't have caffeine before sleeping, it makes it difficult. (No coffee!)
Try to go to sleep at the same time every night.
Use your bedroom for sleeping only--not watching television, working, or using the computer.
Listen to sweet light music. Anything loud and hard will distract you from sleeping.
Warnings
If you really have a hard time sleeping, see your doctor. There are different sleeping disorders.
Things You'll Need

Get in bed, lay flat on your back, and then starting at your toes relax them completely moving on to your ankles, legs, knees. Feel each part of your body relax and release all tension. Then once you are completely relaxed think of outter space, think of stars and the black surrounding, think of only you in that space completely relaxed... Hope that helps.
Having a warm cup of milk before laying down helps as well, but remember to use the restroom before you lay down, so you don't have to get back up. And a fan turned on low for some 'white noise' might help lull you as well, if not that then maybe the sound of the clothes dryer.

I always can't sleep the worst thing to do is get online cuz the light from the computer wakes your brain up.
What helps me...write in a journal get all the thoughts out that are keeping me up, read a book that I already read to bore myself...watch dumb tv...or just get up and hope for the best day you can always sleep later. :)
Night and good luck with all that.

First turn off the computer. try laying down - if you are not immediately ready for sleep -then- get up and vacuum your floor, this will make you ready for sleep rather quickly (and you will have the added benefit of having a cleaner floor).

The big problem here is this- you cant sleep because you are TRYING to sleep.
This TRYING confuses with your effort to sleep. So, first and foremost--- stop trying.
Just close your eyes. If you get to sleep, good. If you cant, its still okay. Just stop thinking about it.

Benedryl - it is over the counter antihistamine and it is the active ingredient in many sleeping pills. It works.
