In relation to media/journalism surely you must have to go to The Edinburgh Festival.
Media - Every television chanel is there tracking the progess of all their big names. Over a third (36%) of all shows are World premieres. 4% are UK premieres, 10% European premieres.
Journalism - A great opportunity for the critics to track genuine talent. Political satire wil no doubt be at edge this year, giving the opportunity for big headlines.
You should seriously look into this. I'm a student of Journalism and I've never come across someone unaware of the festival that has links with the industry. Go visit www.edfringe.com

Not sure. But from what I've been hearing the dates to look out for are August 3, 9, and 19.
