Why is it that trash trucks only pick up trash at like 6 in the morning? It really bothers me because my room is right in the back of my house overlooking the alley and sometimes I open my window overnight, then I am forced to wake up to the sound of a huge truck that picks up garbage and bangs the dumpsters around, and if that doesn't wake me, then the sunlight will through my crappy blinds that by the way "blind" me when I'm sleeping.

look i appreciate your opinions but i still disagree with them, clear roads...? have you ever tried to cross bates street at six in the morning? and as for cool temperatures, they're in a truck! if they want cool temperatures they'll turn on the AC, its not like they have to get out of the truck.

ok just to add a little more information, i live in south St. Louis near Bates and Virginia (for those of you who know where that is) they come every three or so days and make the loudest noise possible.
and about the answer that said about how they do companies last, well wouldn't it be logical to do them first? I mean their trash would still be empty very early on in the work day, and they wouldn't have to worry about waking people up. That might push them back to like 8 am maybe.

Mainly because as a nation America has yet to learn how to dispose of its so called trash. Traditionally trash cans - dumpsters etc have been emptied between five AM and ten AM in the belief that many businesses want to start their day with an empty can. If you are not gonna lead a global fight against the inequities of garbage collection suggest thick 'cargo' blankets; staple gun them in place and completely block out light and sound. In fact you can staple gun cargo-blankets to your walls and further sound proof your room. Oh, I stayed off track - - traditionally people work from day break to sun down. Hence garbage people pick up trash in the early AM so that it can be processed midday to the end of the day either by going into a landfill or the current feeble recycling efforts in most Earth cities, all running on that 6AM too 6 PM time cycle. Another method of sleeping on garbage day is to wear a padded football helmet with welders goggles. Slight tight.

Well, first, the garbage trucks dont come to all houses that early, unfortunately, your district must be earlier than most. but you have to understand that, they don't just do houses, but business's too. they usually do those in the afternoon. (the mail works very similar) anyways, ya I understand about the sun...and what gets me more it the little bird that sits in the tree beside my window. He starts up at around 4:30...i mean i don't hate animals but *&%$... I bought black leather blinds, my room is pitch black now, i love it... but i suggest, for the summer, try to get an a/c...and cover your window (obviously). And..problem solved.

Trash trucks operate throughout the day. Perhaps you just happen to be in a spot where they pick up your trash early. My trash doesn't get picked up until 3 in the afternoon.

if truck run on day time, its hazardous to other traffic like cars, 2-wheeler and urban population. In night time traffic is less, thats why truck can go easily without any disturbance.becoz of that truck s moving on night time.

They have to start their shift whenever the bosses say to and probably are given a route and schedule to follow. I'm sure its nothing personal.
