Dame Edna Everage is a character played by Australian comedian Barry Humphries. As Dame Edna, Humphries has written several books, hosts various television shows (on which Humphries has also appeared as himself), and had a long-running role in the US television series Ally McBeal. In 1979, Dame Edna was the subject of a BBC Arena mockumentary: "La Dame aux Gladiolas."

Dame Edna is known for her lilac-coloured hair (which she claims is natural) and over-the-top eyeglasses.

While Humphries freely states that Dame Edna is a character he plays, Dame Edna consistently denies being a fictional character or drag performer, and refers to Humphries as her "entrepreneur" or manager. Indeed, Dame Edna has frequently said that the thought of a man dressing up as a woman for entertainment purposes is repulsive.

Hey Rania,

I am pretty sure that what you are referring to is the ENDA.

It is constantly bantered around in the press. Almost every time I read it I go dyslexic and read it as EDNA.

If this is what you are asking about, then it stands for:

Employment
Non
Discrimination
Act

It keeps on coming up every year in Congress. Tirelessly supported by Sen. Ted Kennedy (D) Mass., it states that no law shall be adopted that would bar access to any person based on perceived or actual sexual orientation. Of the 14 states that have adopted it, 12 use it as a guide for housing and education. Only 2 stated use it for employment only (California and Florida).

If this is not what you were thinking of, then my vote is with the Dame Edna story above!

Thanks,

James

Edna is this women, who says she will keep the Internet clean. she reports everyone who uses bad languages or stuff that violates yahoo terms of service. Now people get pi$$ed off with her, and lots of people try to impersonate her to pi$$ off the real Edna. Right now there's around 30 versions of Edna. I'll bet you, some of the fakes will be commenting on your question. Just look at the bottom of the page. It's starting to get annoying now.

EDNA promotes Satan. And she's really got the Christian's backs up. They are really scared of her humour. Search EDNA and SATAN in the search bar.
