Participation itself give quite satisfaction if we are answering sincerely to help someone getting clues to solve his/her genuine problem. Chosen or voted best answer doesn't matter. Yes, I feel better if asker reacts at the end whether his/her need has been served or not, no matter whichever answer is selected.

It is a humble contribution by answerers in a small way and asker should get back to his/her question in due time to let answerers know how far his need has been served.

Well it matters to me cause you get 10 points for a best answer. It makes you feel good if someone choose your answer as the best answer.

It kind of matters to me. If I take the time to seriously answer someone and get a Best Answer I get a sense of accomplishment. And now after reading that I feel very sad about my life!

Hey listen Carefully, Google was started first., for the answers which was not in formally., the answers quite natural from humans., To give answers from humans they used this., hence their website was developed well., Now Yahoo also doing this by giving points to users. the point is if any one mispelled the humans can understand like Jawed was mispelled to Javed., hence this is greatness of humans.

This points systems gives all the peoples happy. Definetely and sure

yes, but more for the satisfaction that I answered someone to their satisfaction or people liked my response and relatively less for the "points" - don't know what I can do with them anyway!
