Is "g o o k" a naughty word? I tried to use it in an answer and it came out all asteriks?

When I pronounce the word "g o o k" it sounds like 'brook' and I use it to refer to some sticky slimy substance, somewhere between goop and gunk.

I think we ought to form an international committee to standardize the terminology for sticky, slimy substances, and rank them according to their viscosity!

I'll start:

goo

glop
gloop
g o o k
gunk

do you have any more suggestions?
if you have additions to my list, please rank them from sticky/slimy (top of the list) to sloppy/sludgy (bottom of the list)

It's like the N word but for Asians.

Yes, the word "g-o-o-k" is a racial slur.

If you had ever watched any of the Vietnam War Movies, it was used to describe the nativist Vietnamese.

I am sorry that you prefer to use that particular word, it will probably always be considered offensive or a "racial slur" because of it's origin.

Here's a data base of racial slurs, and if you go to the search engine of your choice and look up the words "racial slurs" you may find more, this one will start you out with some of the obscure words that have been used that others may still find offensive, I say when in doubt, look it up!

As first poster said, derogatory word for Asians. It was also used in the war movies made in WW2 in reference to the Japanese.
Please, don't use it.

Its derogative to Asians when pronounced like nuke, although in itself it is not offensive. Its your intended meaning that defines it, such as chink, which is also derogatory to Asians, but in itself is a perfectly fine word, meaning a knick or dent, like a ckink in your armor.

i believe that is a derogatory term in reference to those of Vietnamese descent...but i could be wrong on the nationality
