Yes its true that you can get pregnant on your first try. BUT, it can also take a long time, and sometimes for no apparent cause.

We had all the work-ups - no problems for either of us separately, but for some reason it was taking a long time for us. After several different fertility drugs/treatments & 1 miscarriage throughout the course of more than 3 years... we finally opted for Invitro & after the 2nd try, we were blessed with twins.

I was 29 when we first started trying.

Good Luck to you. Like the others said, you may be lucky enough to get pregnant on your first try, so make sure you are ready for that. Having a baby is a big responsibility and it is also the most amazing thing in the world, but you really should be ready and willing to make sacrifices. If you are at that point in your life, then you should also remember too, that it doesn't always happen when "You" plan for it. SOMETIMES for whatever reason it can take a lot longer, so don't wait too long to start trying if your ready now.

Good Luck!

I was lucky, my husband just has to look at me and I am pregnant, no seriously, 1st try with baby 1 (35) and first try with baby 2 (37). If you are trying to fall pregnant keep the following in mind, if you have been trying for 1 year and you are under 35, you need to see a doctor, if you have been trying for 6 months and you are over 35, see your doctor. Pregnancy is a miracle. We hear so many stories of young girls getting pregnant, but the truth is, you really only have a 24 hour window of opportunity. If you are on a 28 day regular cycle, you can begin to have sex on days 12,13 & 14, I would even try day 15 just to be safe. You will need to calculate your cycle for a few months to get a cycle date. Good Luck.

Me and my husband and I have been married for 6 1/2 years. We have never tried to prevent pregnancy. I just found out that I am about 10wks pregnant with my first baby. I am 22 years old. Yes that would make me 16 when I got married.

The first time it took 4 months and I was 20 (and yes, married!) and the second time we tried I was pregnant the first month and age 22. Good luck with your endeavors if you are trying yourself! Have patience and don't stress about it too much because that can mess up your cycles. It will happen when it happens!

I have had 3 kids.
I was 23, 26, and 29.
It took 4 months to get pregnant each time.

BTW: If you are trying to concieve but haven't yet, doctors don't consider there to be a problem unless you have been trying unsuccessfully for over a year.

That is different for everyone. What they told you in high school is RIGHT, it really does only take one time to get pregrant. Think about this, once you get pregrant, you will have that child FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, NO EXCEPTIONS. If you don't want to be pregrant, use birth control.

Also, the most wonderful night you will ever have is when you and the person you love lay down together AND WANT TO MAKE A BABY, THEN WHO YOU WILL KNOW WHAT "MAKING LOVE" REALLY MEANS.

I was 25, 27.5, 29.5 and just turned 30.

The first and last pregnancies took one month and the middle two took three months before I fell pregnant.

It took YEARS! Miscarriage at age 40 and, at last, a son at 43. He was worth the wait! We've been married 20 years and we have a five year old!
