go to court. She can't refuse if you have a court order. You will have to pay child support, but you are doing that already I am sure, or you would not be asking for the right to see your child. You would know that deadbeat dads don't get to see their kids.
If she tries to refuse to let you see the child after having a court order, she would be considered in contempt of court and will go to jail for attempting to prevent your visits.
I sincerely hope that the two of you are able to get it together enough to raise the baby... You got 18 years that you have to be civil and respectful because it is the mother of your child.
Children often see the fights between divorcing parent's... and it has an effect of them. You need to model effective parenting role models, childrenoften have cases of "I do what you do, not what you say..."

You need to file for visitation. Although child support has no stipulation in visitation orders, you'll want to be caught up on any support owed when you get to court to prevent the judge from putting you in jail for CS owed or taking your license or any of that. If you're afraid she won't comply with the visitation order, tell the judge while you're at court and he will see to it she does, either by sending an officer with you to pick your child up or having her drop the child off at a mutual meeting ground. Most of the time, you do not need a lawyer to file for visitation. Call your local courthouse and see how you can go about doing this. Keep in mind, however, that if no child support order has been set, this WILL come up in court when you go for visitation so be prepared with check stubs to prove your income in case they want to set the payments up. Good Luck!

Is there a court order involved? If so when going to visit on ordered days contact the local authorties if she does not allow you.
If not....be a man set youyrself up for child support...they will grant you visitation rights...if she fails to still let you see your child she can be arrested and you given custody...
Been their done that.

Are you paying child support? Does she have any reason to think that the child would be better off NOT knowing you?
No offense intended on a personal level. I know few women that won't allow visitation, and in each case, it's justified. My own son is 8, has never met his "father", and is much better off for it.

Go to court, and file for visitation...if you haven't started paying child support, best believe when you file, she'll put a court order in for it.. if you are already paying child support, then you probably already have visitation rights, and you need to read your papers and go back to the courts..
