My favorite season is Spring, because there is the most good weather ahead in Spring time.
I used to hate winter and would get depressed because of the cold weather and longer nights. So I made up my own holiday, which I call Carichenda Shela (or just Shela) and my family jokingly calls "Festivus" (from a Seinfeld episode). So now this has become my favorite holiday because I can celebrate it however I want. I usually just choose a culture to celebrate. I'll learn about a particular culture, and then fix foods from that culture, and download music, pictures, and so on from the culture. I have one day ever 2 or 3 weeks throughout the winter dedicated to a different culture. This keeps my winter from being so depressing. Plus I get to learn a lot about other cultures.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, because of what it's about. You know, giving thanks for what we have and are about to recieve. Acknowldeging the many wonderful things that we have this year we didn't have last year, or the things we still have that we didn't expect to still have. Or for whatever you are thankful or grateful for. And because I love to cook, and this is the right holiday for that, huh?
Now, as for my favorite season? Until a year or two ago, it would have been winter, for the peace, and the cool weather. But lately I am liking spring better. For the growth, the quickening of the spirit of things and people around this time. How everyone, even the newscasters (! LOL) seem to be in a good mood for a change. Yeah, lately it's spring. For sure.

Holiday is Ostara (spring equinox) because of the promise of new life budding out of the earth after a long winter. And rabbits. ;)

Favorite season is probably the autumn, because of the colors, the welcome coolness after the heat of the summer, the return of football, and the chance to reflect on the cycles of life.
