it depends who your referring to.
for example goalkeepers are sometimes at their top form at that age. but other positions are different. older players have more chances of getting injured and many are not as fast or as good as they were during their early times. but zidane has shown that he can still play top quality football during his last tournament and almost succeeded in the world cup.
the main problem is the body conditions, many players are not fit and can't endure the long and tiring matches when they get older while the young players are fresher.

That's not totally true! Well... age may take its token of a lot of footballers, especially in today's football which demands a lot of physical ability. However, experience and composure is still some great assets that rarely comes at a younger age. I would say 32-33 years old footballers can still possess great value!

I dont agree. In my opinion, some players stiil good although they are over 32-33 years old. For example Zidane, Patrick Viera, Oliver Khan, Luis Figo, Dino Zoff , etc

The age of the player does play on the game they realize. It depends on the player of course. They do not run as fast. That is really important. One thing that mature players posses that young lads seek are skills. They read the plays and know what to do to score the goal.

keep in mind that thats the age when alot of players retire...so that definitely says something about their talent at that age...
i think that most players hit their peak at around 30-ish. at this age, theyve had more experience than most, but youre just not as young so youre not as fast and maybe you cant last on the field as long...plus, kids these days are getting to the pro level at such young ages!!
i think alot of players are considered the best at this age so why stay in the game where you know youre only going to do downhill?? why not end it while youre on top of your game and still healthy. the older you get, the better your chance of getting injured....
