There is something called lucid dreaming where you actually realise that you are dreaming and can do whatever you want to do within the dream, including eating chocolate chip cookies which you can't eat in real life due to diet problems or flying, which all seems very real.
If by dreaming "reality" you mean if we can glimpse the future in our dreams then that is quite a gray area. I would say that's a matter of faith - like astrology and supernaturality etc. etc.

I don't know about you but the first thing that pops to mind is 'premonitions' which are dreams based on future events which have been noted throughout history and may have been responsible for the coining of the phrase 'de ja vous'

yea,,,once i dreamt im going for a long drive with my boss...and it came true just recently...we went for a meeting which was really far...
